“Solid Guitar with Warm Sound”The Washburn WD100DL Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar has all the qualities that make it a good acoustic guitar for adult beginner guitarists.
This steel string beauty not only looks great, but thanks to its
laminate mahogany top, back and sides (coupled with its large, dreadnought body) this piece also has a warmth and deepness of tone unexpected for a guitar in this price range.
While the tone is actually quite good, the WD100DL can be a bit difficult to manage, not just for its size (which is a bit big, especially for smaller players) but because of its steel strings. Steel strings can be a bit harder to play and rougher on the fingers; especially for a young beginning guitarist. Its tendency towards a “mushiness” of tone when used for fingerpicking can be a bit discouraging for those who do not use a pick. But if you prefer pick-style playing, it will be right up your alley.
What’s the difference between the Washburn WD100DL and the Washburn D100DL? The WD100DL features an upgraded headstock design; otherwise, they are the same instrument. The D100DL is the older version of the WD100DL.
At ~$149, the WD100DL is decidedly affordable and even comes with its own gig bag so that you can put your skills to good use and start sharing your musical talents with the world while ensuring that your guitar does not get exposed to the elements.
