This stunning Takamine model is built in the Takamine tradition; with an eye on high-quality workmanship at an affordable price. The G440C sports a spruce top and rich mahogany back and sides that give it a rich, open sound that can carry clear across a crowded room. But it doesn’t stop with the sound! Gold turners, an abalone soundhole rosette and abalone position markers on the rosewood fretboard make the Takamine G440C a real “looker” that will look as good on stage as it sounds.
The cutaway body of the G440C makes for easy accessibility to the higher frets, and its action is very good, with a bright rich sound that will make you smile every time you hear it. Two drawbacks are that the spruce top is laminated and not a solid top, and the tuners are non-locking. But given that this is a top-selling guitar, many players have overlooked these shortcomings.
At less than $250, the Takamine G440C makes up for its lack of a solid top by combining looks and sound in a configuration that is good for both beginners as well as for more advanced player and will have you looking as good as you sound.
