Being a Dreadnought, the Seagull S6 has a deeper body; wider across the top than other guitars. This is why it is able to produce such an incredible volume, and produce a tone that lends itself very well to picking. Luckily, the S6 Dreadnought comes with a pickguard to keep its rich finish from being damaged. However, due to the size of the Dreadnought, this style may not be manageable for all body types.
While the S6 Dreadnought provides a beautiful sound, to get the deep, rich, woody tone that this lovely piece is capable of, you may need to do some adjusting. Specifically, you may need to replace the factory saddle and bridge pins in order to get the best tone. But with a little tweaking, this beautiful piece will provide you with years of play at less than $500, a bargain no matter what way you look at it.
What is the difference between the Seagull Coastline S6 and the Seagull Oginal S6? The Coastline S6 Spruce has a solid spruce top. The S6 Original has a solid cedar top. A spruce top will produce more high-end frequencies (brighter tone). A cedar top will produce more low-end frequencies (warmer tone).
