Have you seen some of these videos that say they’ll show you how to play guitar online? Pitiful! Who on earth can learn to play guitar by watching half a dozen guitar videos? I’m sure they mean well, but more often than not they just cause more frustration. If you’re looking to learn how to play guitar online and want some real help you just might want to look into Guitar Tricks.
Guitar Tricks is quickly becoming one of the most popular websites for learning how to play guitar online. Here you’ll find over 1,500 videos on how to play guitar. These videos cover everything. AND I do mean everything!
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced guitarist or if you’ve never held a guitar before in your life, you can find what you’re looking for. You can pick and choose your topics, or you can start at the very beginning with how to hold your guitar, how to hold a pick and how to tune your instrument, etc. Or, choose your own topics such as learning to play notes, chords, arpeggios, scales. Then, move to more advanced videos that cover specific styles of playing such as rock, country, blues, classical and even jazz.
Do you want to learn how to identify the parts of a guitar? There’s a video for that! Do you want to learn what touch tapping is? You’ll find one for that too! Of course you have to have an Internet connection. For those who are online and who have a connection fast enough for the video streaming, you really can’t ask for a better deal.
When you look at the site, you’ll soon find that this is truly a COMPLETE course in how to play guitar online. In fact, if you start at the first video and work your way through, by the time you’ve completed the last video you’ll be on your way to being an accomplished player! If there is a fault to Guitar Tricks it is probably the fact that, while it is a complete guitar course, it does tend to be a little heavy on the beginner guitar lessons. This can make it a bit less than optimal for intermediate or advanced players. But even those who have been at it for a good bit of time will still find the course useful.
One thing that tends to put people off of the site is that it is by subscription only. Keep in mind thought, that while full access to the site requires that you purchase membership, Guitar Tricks is so positive that you’ll like their course that they’re willing to give you a free trial membership that includes 24 free video lessons from 12 of their 45 instructors. But if you want to continue on membership is (are you ready for this?) just $14.95 per month. This is ~ five dollars less than JamPlay, another online website that also offers online learning videos and community interaction. That is far less than you would pay for an actual guitar teacher, and you can learn in the comfort of your own home.
It really doesn’t matter if you’re looking at how to play guitar online from scratch or whether (like me), or whether you seek to improve your skills. Guitar Tricks can help anyone at any level. One of the best things about Guitar Tricks is that this is a month-by-month membership. If you don’t want to continue, just cancel your membership, it’s that simple. Use it as long as you are learning something from it; as long as it keeps your interest. When you have learned everything you want, go ahead and cancel!
But be warned, I’m betting that you’ll keep your membership for a good long time, or at least as long as you keep your internet connection. Look at me, I went for their free offer and was so impressed that I decided to keep paying the monthly fee. It really is worth it! Of all the websites out there that promise that you can learn how to play guitar online, Guitar Tricks really does follow through on their claim and gives both beginning and advanced students alike new challenges that will significantly improve their guitar playing skills.
