How is the G6 guitar chord contructed? The sixth note of the G major scale is (E), so a G6 chord will simply be the G major triad (G, B, D) plus the sixth note (E). Said differently, a G6 chord is made up of intervals 1 3 5 6, or notes G B D E.
This G6 or Gmaj6 chord is not the same as the "G6 Power Chord". The G6 Power Chord, not shown here, contains only 2 notes; G (root) and E (6th note); intervals 1 and 6.
