Epiphone Acoustic Guitar: PR-150

“Great Starter Guitar”The Epiphone PR-150 is a great way to afford a dreadnought style guitar without breaking the bank! You’ll love practicing on the PR-150 because with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the PR-150 provides you with a well-rounded sound that projects surprisingly well.
The PR-150 is a good acoustic guitar that sports a great looking sunburst finish (if you choose that model) to give it a look that will have people thinking it is a far more expensive instrument. And while the dreadnought body may be a bit deep of body and wide of shoulder for younger or more slightly built players to handle, those with the reach will be able to get the benefits of a dreadnought body sound without having to pay an arm and a leg.
At just ~$129, the Epiphone PR-150 may need some adjustments to its bridge pins to avoid any dead sounding strings (avoid plastic bridge pins with the PR-150). But once you have tweaked it a little, you will find yourself with a pretty awesome sounding practice guitar and one that you will feel comfortable taking with you wherever you go.
Note: it may be worth purchasing a case to keep your new purchase protected. You might also consider the PR-150 Acoustic Guitar Value Pack, which includes a gig bag, pitch pipe, strap, picks and instructional CD.
Considering both the Epiphone PR-150 and the
Epiphone DR-100, and how do they compare? They are very similar except that the PR-150 is a special run model and only available at certain dealers. The DR-100, made in the USA, has a set neck and bound body. Other than these minor differences, these 2 guitars are about the same.
