Blueridge Guitars: BR60

”Affordable Solid Top With Vintage Styling”

The Blueridge BR60 has everything that a vintage guitar lover could possibly ask for in a dreadnought. From its solid Sitka spruce top to authentic prewar parabolic braces to its sleek rosewood back and sides, this beauty has not only been beautifully finished (with 5-ply body binding and mother of pearl inlays), it also has that rich, full-bodied tone that will blow you away.

Honestly, who would have thought that a Chinese factory-made guitar (and one that only costs ~$439 nonetheless) would have this quality of sound? Perhaps it has to do with being built on a dreadnought body, or maybe it’s the combination of tonewoods being used, or maybe all of the above. But you won’t be disappointed.

Mind you, this is not a guitar for the timid. This is a big instrument with a very big sound and you need to have the reach (and the attitude) to bring out this piece’s full potential. But with a little attention to detail (like changing out the strings) you will find yourself pleasantly surprised, especially when you look at your bank account and realize that you’ve saved yourself a hundred bucks, for you won’t get this quality of sound unless you trade up for the Blueridge BG40.

In fact, you’ll have saved yourself enough to protect your investment by buying one of the well made
Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case
. You can get them for between ~$39 and ~$69, and what you spend will be well worth it, for you’ll protect your new guitar from the dents and bangs that it wouldn’t be able to avoid in a gig bag.

So don’t spend more than you need to for a beginner’s acoustic guitar that will serve you well for years again. Simply opt for the Blueridge BR-60 and you’ll be smiling all the way to the bank.

not bad NEW
by: Graham

For under $500, this isn't bad. However, in this pricerange, there is plenty of competition. These Pacific Rim imports LOOK nice. All the abalone and mother-of-pearl look great, but it needs to be remembered that you only get what you pay for. Generally, a plainer-looking domestic in the same pricerange, will have a superior build quality...It's YOUR money!
