Aria Guitars: AW-20

by Horia
(Romania)

Hi, I have some questions.

What do you say about Aria acoustic guitars? Are they good? I'm asking for a person who is not a beginner but needs a better acoustic guitar for a price of $199 or less.

Somebody strongly advised me about Aria and I want to know cause I found a nice model (AW-20). I'm not sure if it's a solid spruce top or laminated top. And finally, any other suggestions? The more the better:)
Thank you.

Aria AW20 NEW
by: Anonymous

I've got this guitar and its a nice guitar for what it is, with a decent sound once I put new strings on it and changed out the bridge pins. But you'll definitely be looking for an upgrade before long. I know I am. Tanglewood makes some nice solid top guitars for just above $200.00. Unless your a beginner and on a small budget, I'd really save your money up and get something a bit better. As guitar guru recommended the Takamine Jasmine S35 is a nice beginner guitar and can be picked up for under a $100.00

upgrade?
by: Graham

It's not easy to upgrade to a guitar under $200. There are very few guitars worthy of your attention at this pricepoint. Washburn makes one or two, but, seriously, if you need a decent instrument, you need to spend at least $300. If you don't, you'll be looking to upgrade again in a very short time. Save a little longer and buy a
Seagull Original S6
. You will not be sorry.

Aria Guitars: AW-20
by: Guitar Guru

Aria does make some good guitars. But the Aria AW-20 is NOT a solid top model, but a laminate top guitar. If you are indeed looking to upgrade, I suggest buying a solid top model. For under $200, my top recommendation is the
Washburn Wd 10S Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
for only $199.

If your budget is even lower, check-out the Jasmine By Takamine S35 for $99. Yet, this is truly a low-cost beginner's guitar with a laminate top and likely not an upgrade.

I strongly recommend you spend an additional $100 for a solid top guitar! Here are some other solid-top guitar recommendations below $300!
